A Better Retained Search Model

Our search model has developed as a result of years of industry research, trial and error, and emphatic utilization of best practices. We are dedicated to "never ending improvement". Our Better Retained Search model has four pillars:

Industry Observations 1:
Staffing teams
Major Retained Search Firms are often staffed by three types of individuals:

.  Those who handle client relationships
.  Those who search and recruit
.  Those who conduct interviews

The problem
Each member handles a small portion of the process. Often the team members are not staffing professionals. They are often business people taught an interviewing methodology, a business development methodology, or a search methodology but lack true connection to the marketplace. They are not Certified Personnel Consultants bringing the highest standards in the staffing industry to the search.

The ASG model:
All searches are managed by CPC ( Certified Personnel Consultants ) the highest designation in the staffing industry. The interview, client relationship management, and search management is done by one Certified Personnel Consultant. This hands on management of the entire process by a Certified Personnel Consultant insures the highest level of performance attainable in the staffing industry.


Industry Observation 2:
Expenses & Fees

Major Retained Firms are often not cost conscious

.  Client time and expense is sometimes wasted with "filler" candidates who will show up for interviews at the recruiters behest but have no intention of taking the position
.  Expenses are often accumulated through unnecessary travel and entertainment
.  Fees are often at the extreme high end of the spectrum.

The problem
Searches cost considerably more than they should cost. This cost is expressed in real currency cost. It is also expressed in time-investment cost.

The ASG model:
ASG Certified Personnel Consultants never present "filler" candidates. We have ethical standards to maintain our certification. "Filler" candidates just do not cut our professional benchmarks for ethics or good business. We discourage our clients from making needless expenditures on travel and entertainment. We do most of our work over the telephone and over our extensive video conferencing networks. Our CPC will benchmark your candidates carefully using a tiered screening process and streamline the recruiting timeline by avoiding travel and entertainment expense (unless the client requests face-to-face meetings with the candidates by our team). Our fee structure aligns better with the realities of today's marketplace.

Restrictions

Over the years and with increased size of client base the Major Retained Search Firms often have a large number of companies from which they cannot recruit.

The problem
The candidate pool is condensed due to the recruiting firm's market restrictions. A rich full market search is impossible. The client is not able to meet the broadest possible base of talent available in the marketplace.

The ASG model:
Sometimes being smaller has its advantages. In the case of recruiting it enables us to penetrate many more companies than our Major Retained Search counterparts. We have fewer restrictions and we are used to rubbing shoulders within our marketplaces.


Industry Observation 4
The guarantee
Typical replacement guarantees provide clients with at most a one year replacement window.

The problem
It generally takes six months to one year for a company to get to know the performance of a specific new employee. By the time the client becomes familiar with the candidate the guarantee has already expired.

The ASG model:
We believe our guarantee is the strongest in the staffing industry. We will guarantee our "C" level placements for up to twenty-five (25) months. This guarantees our client sufficient time to test the candidate in real world performance.


The ASG Retained Search Model:

.  All searches are led by Certified professionals (CPC) with the highest business and ethical standards. Our staff is in the market and close to the candidates.

.  ASG controls expenses on each search and reduces recruiting time by eliminating travel wherever possible. We control our fee structure.

.  ASG is smaller and more nimble than the Major Retained firms. Less restriction means a broader and deeper search net can be cast.

.  ASG provides the strongest replacement guaranty in the staffing industry at up to 25 months.
